History of the Division

For the past 15 years at northern region, the encouragement of the officers to the members for furthering their work in St. John Ambulance through joining the adult divisions was very lacking. The knowledge about joining adult divisions, distance of adult divisions from the northern border, lack of adult divisions from the northern border and also lack of communication with the Regional office had made St. John Ambulance Wilayah Persekutuan loosing hundreds of potential members from the northern border of Kuala Lumpur.

By considering the future of the cadet members when they graduate from secondary schools, the idea to form an adult division at northern area of Kuala Lumpur was brought out. It is not only for the self development of individual members on the spirit of promoting St. John Ambulances and youth movement, but it also involves the future of St. John Ambulance Wilayah Persekutuan Malaysia Kuala Lumpur.

Hence, the formation of KL Northern Central Combined Division, which later on was known as KL No. 5 Combined Adult Division, was carried out by Dr. Kiew Lik Jun's in 2005.
